Frequently Asked Questions

What differentiates your dog training service from other dog training facilities?

What sets Paws N Recreation apart from other dog training services in Las Vegas, is our commitment to small scale, intimate and professional dog training. We don’t believe in large scale operations that lack qualified staff and place their focus on quantity rather than quality. We don’t confine dogs to an isolated kennel run or an overly crowded dog daycare room with slippery floors and an overly loud atmosphere.

We ensure dogs are allowed to be dogs, integrating them into our active lifestyle that satiates a dog’s needs in every way. We immerse them in our passionate pursuit of dog training centric activities.

Our Day Training Adventures program is operated by Paws N Recreation’s owner, professional dog trainer, Angie Nerviani ADT-IAABC. We only operate outdoors and in public settings, implementing basic obedience training every moment they spend with us. We cover door manners, impulse control, loose leash walking, polite greetings and reliable recalls. We hike up to 4 miles a day, offering where permissible, off leash romps. We never have more than 4 dogs in our care at a time, ensuring they receive individualized training, attention and interaction. Your dog will be crated in a secure Ruffland Kennel for brief periods while being transported, provided a mandatory 1 hour nap, and or waiting their turn to train.

We are committed to caring for your dog in every capacity, ensuring they are treated like our very own, returning home to you physically, mentally and emotionally fulfilled…

How long will it take for my dog to become trained?

What Paws N Recreation LLC can and can’t promise — detailed overview

What we do promise

  • Professional, structured sessions: Dogs in the Day Training Adventure Program will receive planned activities designed to build basic obedience foundations, impulse control, and reliable recall through high‑drive outdoor work, enrichment, and repetitions appropriate to each dog’s learning style.

  • Experienced handlers and safe environments: Our staff are trained to work with high‑drive dogs using humane, reward‑based methods in controlled outdoor settings selected for safety and appropriate levels of distraction.

  • Practical transfer focus: We design exercises and progressions with owner transfer in mind—techniques, cues, and timing are demonstrated and explained so owners can practice at home.

  • Individual assessment and progression: Each dog is assessed and trained according to its current skill level, physical condition, and behavioral needs. Training plans are adjusted as your dog progresses or as new concerns emerge.

  • Welfare-first approach: We prioritize your dog’s physical and emotional well‑being. We will not push dogs beyond safe limits, and rest, hydration, and mental breaks are integrated into sessions.

What we can’t promise

  • Permanent or guaranteed results: Because learning is an ongoing process influenced by many variables, Paws N Recreation LLC cannot guarantee permanent behavior change or mastery of skills after a set number of sessions. Behavior is not static therefore it is neither predictable nor guaranteed.

  • Immediate or uniform timelines: Every dog learns at its own pace. Some dogs may show a new behavior after a single session; others will require repeated practice and reinforcement over weeks or months. We cannot promise that progress will occur within any specific timeframe.

  • Successful Outcomes: Training program success relies heavily on owner participation. Behaviors learned in our program will not reliably transfer to the owner and home environment without owner investment. This means an owner should expect to establish a consistent training routine that implements a training plan based on Paws N Recreation’s training plans.

  • Satisfaction as a contractual promise: While we aim to provide competent, professional services, we will not promise client satisfaction.

Owner responsibilities that affect outcomes

  • Consistency: Use the same cues, timing, and rewards the handlers demonstrate. Inconsistent cues undermine learning.

  • Practice frequency: Regular short practice sessions at home accelerate retention. Sporadic practice slows progress.

  • Management: Use environmental management and safety measures recommended by our team (leashes, crates, supervision) to prevent rehearsal of unwanted behaviors.

  • Meeting the needs of the dog when the service is completed. A dog that is getting exercise, training, enrichment, playtime, social interaction and appropriate down time, will be far less disruptive than a dog that has not had its needs met.

  • Communication: Share medical, behavioral, and household information fully and promptly. Changes in routine, health, or living situation should be communicated so training can be adapted.

  • Follow-through on recommendations.

Summary Paws N Recreation LLC’s Day Training Adventure Program provides professional, welfare‑focused training designed to build basic obedience foundations and enable owner transfer. However, we cannot guarantee permanent results, specific timelines, or client satisfaction. Long‑term success depends substantially on the owner’s engagement, consistency, and follow‑through. We commit to clear communication, practical recommendations, and adapting our approach to help you and your dog make meaningful progress.

What Methods Do You Train With?

At Paws N Recreation LLC the focus is not on labels, but on what motivates the dog and achieves desired results.

We are proud to have built our training style without the use of popular dog training tools such as choke, prong, electronic training collars or physical manipulation. We have established a style of training that strengthens cooperation and builds a willingness to engage through the thoughtful and deliberate use of toys, food, natural breed specific tendencies and innate character trait of the individual dog.

We use clear and concise communications to decrease frustration and optimize performance. We understand all the quadrants of R+, R-, P+, P-, but choose to focus on intentional applications of R+ and understand when the strategic and calculated use of R- and P- is warranted, and we strive to avoid all intentional use of P+.

If this description of our training method was not sufficient, please contact us for further clarification. We strive for transparency and want you to feel confident in our methods just as much as we are.

Will you work with Clients who train differently than you?

Yes! We will meet you where you are in your training journey. We tailor our sessions to use the methods we rely on and our goal is that we can teach you to confidently work with your dog in the same way.
