Customized pace and goals

• Private training can be tailored to owner’s schedule and priorities. Session length, progress goals, and homework are adjusted to what works best for that specific team.

• Private training strengthens the team element, because the owner is the primary trainer from the start. The dog learns to work with the person who will be giving cues and reinforcement every day.

When private training may not be ideal:

• Owners who are unavailable to participate or practice consistently might benefit more from an intensive board-and-train.

• Reactivity sometimes requires intensive, concentrated work to help establish new habits and skills that a board-and-train approach can deliver.

Choosing between private training and board-and-train depends on the dog, the owner’s availability and desire to learn, and the specific behavior goals.

Every training session, owners receive clear, detailed instructions and supervised, hands-on practice. Owners get demonstrations of each new skill and learn handling techniques step-by-step. Owners learn about the purpose behind every action; not just how to do it, but why it works. Instruction covers realistic scenarios you’ll encounter at home and outdoors. Owners receive immediate, constructive feedback, and techniques are adjusted to suit the owner’s learning style to promote the dog’s success. Owner’s also learn positive reinforcement strategies, correct marker use and timing, and how to fade treats while maintaining strong responses.

Every session will include homework for that week to be practiced until the next session and owner has access to email/text support. This hands-on, guided approach ensures owners are confident working with their dogs on specific training objectives while they’re between sessions.
